Ingredients

25 prep 20 cook
8 people
  1. 4 TbsButter
  2. 4Rounded Tbsp flour
  3. Just over 2 cups whole milk
  4. 16 ozShredded sharp Cheddar
  5. 1couple good squirts of mustard - more than you'd think
  6. 3ish oz of real bacon bits or cook & crumble 6 slices of bacon
  7. 1 lbmacaroni
  8. Italian breadcrumbs

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350°. Put on water to boil for macaroni.

    Melt butter over medium heat. Wisk in one rounded tablespoon of flour at a time to make roux.

    Add milk and stir constantly until it starts to thicken.

  4. 4

    Add macaroni to boiling water. cook 9 minutes

  5. 5

    Melt a handful of cheese at a time in the milk until all is melted.

  6. 6

    Add several squirts of mustard and bacon bits. Stir to combine

  7. 7

    Drain macaroni and pour into 9x11 pan. Pour cheese sauce over macaroni and stir until combined

  8. 8

    Sprinkle top with breadcrumbs. Bake for 20 minutes until bubbly.
