Tofu day

After my business trip in Izu, I called Chika over to hang out for the entire day. I wanted to see how it feels to be impetuous like her. I prepared her favorite food - tofu - for the whole day. I tried to figure out what kind of tofu dishes she'd like through recalling Yuichi's complaints about the inn that Chika recommended.
As I cooked tofu the whole day, I couldn't help but ponder over this food. In a sense, it's both a meaningful and an interesting food to me. If the inn had served anything but tofu, which Yuichi did not believe is suitable for a growing boy like him, he wouldn't have complained to me on the phone, and I wouldn't have rushed to bring him the katsudon. That made me think about how people demonize tofu and claim they have feminizing effects on men. I guess maybe that's why they call it "monk's food", as monks are surely not people's first choice of representation for masculinity. Either way, it's a ridiculous claim, I concluded before returning to reality and hung out with Chika for the rest of the day.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
For breakfast, I made a hearty soup with egg tofu. I took some tofu out of the fridge and diced up a zucchini.
- 2
Boil some chicken stock and season with chicken bouillon. Then, put all the ingredients in and wait for 5 minutes.
- 3
Breakfast is served.
- 4
For lunch, I made tofu spring rolls. First, wash some lettuce and cilantro. Cut the avocado in thin strips. Fry an egg and also cut them thinly. Fry the tofu until crispy and cut.
- 5
Wet the rice paper on both sides to make rolling easier. Put all the ingredients at one end, roll them up twice and close the edges before continuing to roll the rest.
- 6
Make the sauce using 1 tbsp fish sauce, 1 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tbsp vinegar and 3 tbsp water. I also added some thai chili. Put the rolls on the plate and enjoy.
- 7
For dinner: There's always rice for dinner at the inn! I made tomato tofu, which I usually really love, but I was getting kind of sick of tofu. I see what Yuichi was saying now. Anyways, first, I cut the tofu and also chopped up the tomatoes.
- 8
Fry the tomato in 1 tbsp oil. Salt them immediately so they break apart quicker. Add 1/2 cup water about 5 minutes later.
- 9
Add fish sauce, sugar and ketchup to taste. Add the tofu in.
- 10
Put on a plate and serve with rice.
- 11

🥪 Tofu Sandwich 🥪 🥪 Tofu Sandwich 🥪
This tofu sandwich is inspired by the classical Bàhn Mí Vietnamese sandwich. There was a Vietnamese restaurant near my old job that I would often go to during my lunch break to indulge in delicious Pho or Bàhn Mí sandwiches. Their food and service was superb, and it quickly became my favorite spot. Even though I don’t work near there anymore, I still order from them occasionally to savor their authentic Vietnamese food.Although the original Bàhn Mí Sandwich is popular for its airy yet crunchy bread, it can easily be recreated with a French baguette. I didn’t pickle the carrots or cucumber because of personal preference but you can if you wish to give it a more authentic touch. Not only is this sandwich delicious, it’s filled with flavor and protein. It’s suitable for anyone following a vegan diet (just omit butter ) and it can be put together in a jiffy!#CA2025 Veggie K -
Tofu Steak Tofu Steak
This is a good way to eat tofu. Saute the tofu well, otherwise the excess amount of moisture comes out. It's also good to coat the tofu with the cornstarch or flour and then sear them. Adjust the taste that you like and enjoy! Rie -
Tofu Chips Tofu Chips
I just thought that it'd be nice to have some tofu chips one day.You can top these with your choice of ingredients, such as salt or seaweed, or grated cheese. You could also fry it and it's still delicious! Don't microwave too much at a time or the evaporation of the moisture will prevent the microwave from dehydrating the tofu. Be careful! Mapo Tofu Mapo Tofu
I always make mapo dishes, whether it's mapo tofu or mapo eggplant, with this formula. I don't even remember where I learned it first because I've been doing it this way for so long. I use quite a lot of tianmianjiang, so I must have started doing it like this when I won a Chinese flavoring ingredient set in a contest.I use a 500 W microwave oven. This recipe makes 2 servings on the small side. It's a perfect amount to top this over rice. This is the standard in our family, just so you know. For 2 servings. Recipe by Sabumochi cookpad.japan -

Mapo Tofu Mapo Tofu
This is a family treat, one we sometimes take the extra effort to make fresh homemade tofu for because it makes a world of a difference. We use a bit more pork than may be traditional, but it's still tasty anyway. Feel free to mix up the protein ratio, use beef, or leave out pork altogether. Yue Logy
