Ingredients

  • 3⁄ 4 Cups Rice par cooked (12 tbs),
  • 1⁄ 4 Cups Urad dal (4 tbs)
  • 1 TeaspoonRefined oil (for greasing)
  • 1, Carrot grated
  • To TasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak rice and urad dal in water for 3 hours. Transfer to a blender and blend to a fine paste.

  2. 2

    Allow to ferment overnight. To the batter, add salt and carrot, mix well.

  3. 3

    In a microwave idli steamer, pour about 2 tablespoons of mixture in each slot, cover and microwave for 4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Serve with sambhar and coconut chutney.
