Sabut Hari Moong Daal

A simple yet a flavourful and a healthy Breakfast dish. It goes very well alongside Rotis and Parathas. Tastes best with a drizzle of some homemade Ghee or Clarified Butter. It's a comfort food by all means.
Not to forget that it's full of essential Protiens that are necessary for the body.
It's absolutely important for the growing children too.
Overall a perfect one to relish on a Weekend Morning or just about on any day. It's a guilt free indulgence and can be enjoyed with any of the Indian Breads.
To top it all, this Legume looks great as well. A balanced meal for all, it's the most loved Lentil Curry in my house.
Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps
- 1
Wash and soak the Lentils in enough drinking water for at least 2 to 3 hours. Keep it aside. In the meantime, heat Oil in a pressure cooker. Add Cumin Seeds, Asafoetida, Cinnamon, Cardamom and Ginger garlic paste with chopped Onions. After a bit of sauteeing, add Tomatoes and the rest of the powdered spices.
- 2
Cover and cook on a low heat until done with the Tomatoes being soft and mushy. Mix well and now finally add the Lentils along with the water in which they have been soaked. Keep the heat on a medium high and adjust Salt at this stage. Also add in chopped Coriander Leaves. Pressure cook as required.
- 3
Serve hot with Phulkas and Chapatis. It tastes yum with any of the Indian Breads. However if desired, it can be enjoyed with simple boiled Rice too alongside some Poppadoms and Salad. Enjoy!
