A simple Flat Beans or Saim or Sem ki Phali curry with Potatoes that's easy and yummy as well. Done in practically no time at all, this one is a sure shot hit with my family and friends.
Tastes equally great with both Rice and Rotis. And if eaten with Rice, Daal or any flavoured Rasam will do the trick.
Made with simple ingredients, it's a delicious semi dry Curry.
That's it. Nothing much to pen about this simple yet a mouthwatering dish. I have used Ghee for a lovely taste and texture. You can use both Oil and Ghee in equal quantities if desired. It's a great one for everyday meals as well as perfect for yummy Tiffin box or Lunchbox too. And it goes very well with simple homemade Rotis or Chapatis and even Phulkas. Kids will love it's crunch. All in all a lovely Vegetable for everyday cooking. And with Potatoes added, it becomes a great option for the whole family. Kids will enjoy it. And it would suffice the whole family too. Rasam and Daal would be perfect alongside it if eating with Rice.

Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

In a pan, heat ghee and oil both. Add the ginger garlic green chilli paste. Saute well for a minute. Then add the finely chopped onions. Let them become a bit translucent and light pinkish in colour. Now it's time to add the cubed potatoes. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes or until fork tender.

  2. 2

Now is the time to add flat beans or sem ki phali. Also add the powdered spices too. Mix well. Don't cover and let it cook for about 7-8 minutes. That would be more than enough. That way these beans maintain their crunch too. But keep stirring a bit at regular intervals just so that the curry doesn't burn at the bottom.

  3. 3

Do not add water. As the beans are thinly chopped, they get perfectly roasted in no time. Serve as a delicious side dish to your loved ones. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
