Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sift the flours and salt together. Make a well in the center and add the water, yeast, and malt extract. Mix together and add the lard and pork cracklings. Knead the dough and slam it onto the work surface several times. Form a ball, cover it, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 2
Roll the dough out to a thickness of 5mm, pierce it with a fork, and cut out rolls that are 7 centimeters in size.
- 3
Place the rolls on greased baking sheets, leaving space between them. Spray them with water and sprinkle them with flour. Cover them and let them rise until they have doubled in size.
- 4
Bake the rolls in a hot oven (200 degrees Celsius) for 30 minutes. Place a pot of water on the bottom of the oven to create steam. Once they are cooked, brush them with melted lard.

Pork Fat Bread Pork Fat Bread
In the cold of winter you need extra fat as you burn calories. So I have heard of people just chewing on fat to survive. During just regular normal days you have to have 20% of your daily diet with fat. In Germany they put a good thick layer of rendered pork fat on bread called schmalz. In the Ukraine it's called Salo. In Poland its called Smalec. Many different countries put in different spices herbs and even bacon, cracklings, pork bits all in the spread. When I say thick layer, I saying thicker then cream cheese on a bagel. Well here is a little bit toned down, some, version. skunkmonkey101 -

Pan Cubano / Cuban Loaf Bread Pan Cubano / Cuban Loaf Bread
This is a very traditional bread from Cuba. Similar to a soft Italian loaf of bread. It takes time to make but well worth the effort. Each step is actually quick and simple. The time is waiting for the starter and the different risings. Bake this once and you'll be hooked! I suggest making several loaves at once and freezing them after they are baked. Never be without! Fried Bread Fried Bread
This is a recipe for fried bread that is used to make Indian Tacos. This is a yeast version. I revised a recipe that my mother-in-law gave me into easy to make measurements.-The moisture of the dough may vary depending on the type of flour used and the humidity, so adjust accordingly.-The dough should be just a little bit softer than your earlobe.-I used the rapid rise type of yeast that can be used instantly after mixed with the flour.
