My mother taught me how to cook it. It reminds me of home and is very dear to my heart. Would love the opportunity to share my culture with you! My favorite way to eat it is with bread and some fresh cream on top. Add herbs to taste, preferably dill or parsely

Start by putting your meat to boil in a standard pot. Make sure there's enough water to fill it so you don't have to keep adding more as other ingredients get incorporated. You should add your beetroot too because it takes a while to soften.

While your meat and beets are boiling, grate your carrots and garlic. Then dice your onions, peppers and cabbage.

Put your carrots, peppers, cabbage, onions and garlic in a pan and fry until ready. Add salt and pepper to taste. Once done just leave the vegetables on the side.

By now your meat and beets should be quite soft. Add the potatoes. Remove the beets and let them cool. Once they cool you can dice them (or grate them if you prefer).

Add the beets back to the pot together with all the vegetables in the pan. Let the mixture boil together on low heat for the remaining 15 to 30 mins

Once done, serve it with a side of bread, and some fresh cream (with a bit of parsely on top!)
