  • 200 gramsmung beans (about 1 cup)
  • 1000 mlwater (about 4 1/4 cups)
  • 1/2 cupgranulated sugar (about 100 grams)
  • 1/2 cupdark brown sugar (about 100 grams)

    Gather all the ingredients.

    Rinse the mung beans thoroughly and soak them for 1–2 hours.

    Place the soaked mung beans in a soup pot with a tight-fitting lid. Add 1000 ml (about 4 1/4 cups) of water.

    Turn on the heat and bring to a boil. Let the mung beans boil for 5 minutes, then skim off any foam.

    Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let it steep for 30 minutes.

    Uncover and check if the mung beans are fully cooked. If not, add a little more water, bring to a boil again, cover, and let steep for another 10 minutes.

    Once the mung beans are tender, add the granulated sugar and dark brown sugar. Stir well, cover, and let steep for 10 more minutes to sweeten the beans.
