I made a cute and simple dish with the leftover slices from making kamaboko flowers.

It will be easier to lay on the ingredients if the pieces are flat. The edges are pink and square, giving it a cute and simple new design. Please feel free to top it with your favorite ingredients. For 2 servings. Recipe by Mikki-an

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1Kamaboko
  2. 1(Leftover kamaboko)
  3. Toppings:
  4. 1Wasabi (optional)
  5. 1Sliced cheese
  6. 1Mayonnaise
  7. 1 dashBlack toasted sesame seeds
  8. 1 dashBacon
  9. 1 dashCoarsely ground black pepper
  10. 1 dashParsley

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

This is kamaboko that has been sliced into about 1-1.5 cm thin. You might be able to slice it thinner with a peeler and use the pieces in a salad...

  2. 2

Remove from the board and cut into squares. I used this sort of kamaboko to make the roses this time. I am making two pieces this time, but you can make 3-4 with 1 stick.

  3. 3

Use the thin peelings to make a salad or flower petals.

  4. 4

Coat Step 2 with wasabi if you like, and place a slice of cheese that is cut one size smaller than the kamaboko.

  5. 5

In this one I squeezed some mayonnaise onto the wasabi, squeezed some mayonnaise onto the side not spread with sesame, topped with bacon, and sprinkled with ground black pepper.

  6. 6

*Feel free to top it with whatever you like.

  7. 7

Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil or lightly coat in oil, line up Step 5, and bake until golden brown in a toaster oven or similar.

  8. 8

Transfer to a serving platter, and it is done. It has turned out to be a square-shaped dish with cute pink edges.

  9. 9

Here is the recipe for "Kamaboko Flowers Made with a Peeler". These are simple roses made by thinly slicing kamaboko with a peeler.

  10. 10

This is the recipe for "Kamaboko Rose Rice Balls".
