Finely chop the garlic and bacon, then mix them with the olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Cut all the ingredients into bite-sized pieces. Boil the potato in salted water until just tender.

Pour the prepared oil mixture into the wells of the takoyaki pan and heat until it starts to bubble. Add the other ingredients.

Add all the oil at the beginning. If you need more during cooking, just add extra olive oil. Dip the leftover oil with baguette slices.
