Featured in Cookpad News! It’s simple, but just spreading this makes it twice as tasty! This is a cheese sandwich, not a cucumber sandwich. (^^)

About 48 years ago, I tried a friend’s sandwich and it was so good, I had to make it myself.

Slice the cucumber and lay the slices on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.

Place another paper towel on top of the cucumber slices to soak up more moisture. Always use paper towels to remove moisture from any vegetables you add to sandwiches.

If you use tomatoes, remove the seeds to prevent sogginess. This is especially important if you’re packing the sandwich for lunch.

For the spread, mix about 1 tablespoon mayonnaise with 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Spread the mayo-sugar mixture on the bread, then layer with cucumber and cheese.

Adjust the amounts of mayonnaise, sugar, cheese, and cucumber to your taste. Feel free to customize.
