Cooking Instructions
- 1
Make the egg mixture: Beat the eggs well, letting in some air, then add milk or mayonnaise. Don't worry if the mayonnaise doesn't fully mix in!
- 2
Add as much melting cheese as you like to the egg mixture and mix lightly. (If using sliced cheese, tear it into small pieces about the size of a dime.)
- 3
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Sauté the bacon first, then add the mixed vegetables, and finally the cooked rice.
- 4
Once everything is heated through, add the ketchup and stir-fry quickly. Be careful not to let it burn!
- 5
Transfer the ketchup rice to a plate. Wipe the frying pan lightly with a paper towel, then pour in the egg mixture. Cook over low to medium heat.
- 6
When the eggs start to set but are still soft, gently stir in large circles with chopsticks or a spatula.
- 7
Once the eggs are just set and still creamy, remove from heat and place over the ketchup rice. Done!

Easy Omurice - Fluffy Filling Wrapped in Egg Easy Omurice - Fluffy Filling Wrapped in Egg
While creamy omurice is good, my husband prefers the original omrice, so I experimented and settled on this recipe. It is so easy. You can add green pepper and carrot to the filling to make the dish more nutritious. It is great for kids.In Step 5, make sure to only cook the egg until it is half-cooked. If you cook the egg for too long, it will not fold well around the filling. It is best for the underside to be browned, and the top side to be half-cooked. If you cook it well, it will be OK.
