Instead of baking soda, I used baking powder. In less than 10 minutes, you can enjoy silky yudofu. Perfect for cold days, dieting, or a reset meal. The origin of this recipe: I successfully used baking powder, which I always have in the fridge, instead of baking soda (haha).

Ingredients

Serves 2 servings
  1. 1 block(about 10.5 oz) silken tofu
  2. 2/3-3/4 cupwater
  3. About 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. Desired amount of your favorite ingredients (ginger, fried tofu, mushrooms)
  5. Desired amount of your favorite garnishes (green onions, ginger, yuzu, etc.)
  6. Desired amount of your favorite sauce

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Cut the tofu into your preferred size and add enough water to cover at least 80% of it. Heat it up.

  2. 2

Once it starts boiling, add the baking powder. Gently stir or shake the pot and let it boil for 1 minute until done. Add more baking powder for a silkier texture if desired.

  3. 3

Enjoy with your favorite sauce or garnishes. Try yuzu sesame sauce, kinako miso sauce, or plum mustard sauce. Using a base like dressing or ponzu makes it even easier.
