Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoonCumin
  • 1 teaspoonThyme
  • 1 teaspoonSalt
  • 1 TablespoonOlive Oil
  • 1/2chopped orange bell pepper
  • 1/4chopped white onion
  • 1 lbground Italian or Sage sausage
  • 1 (28 oz)can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cupshredded Jack cheese
  • 1 lbFusilli pasta noodles
  • 1 (24 oz)can red pasta sauce

Steps

    Start noodles on medium-high and bring to a boil until 3/4 cooked but slightly al dente

  2. 2

    Add olive oil to pan and cook onions until translucent.

  3. 3

    Add in sausage and brown, slowly mixing in the chopped bell peppers

  4. 4

    Season meat and veggies with salt, cumin and thyme

  5. 5

    Add in stewed tomatoes and blend well

  6. 6

    Incorporate cooked noodles into meat mixture

  7. 7

    In halves, pour pasta sauce in with noodles and meat

  8. 8

    Fill 9"by 13" glass baking dish with pasta in two additions. After first layer, add half cup of cheese. Then add the rest of the pasta and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.

    Cover and bake on 350 for 30 minutes
