Ingredients

  1. 1 cupraw rice
  2. 1/2 cupsplit green moong dal
  3. 1/4 cupsplit yellow moong dal
  4. 1/4 cupchana dal
  5. 1chopped onion
  6. 1chopped potato
  7. 1chopped tomato
  8. 1 cupmix chopped veggies. (carrot, red, yellow, green capsicum, cauliflower, sweet corn, green peas, spring onions leaves, and palak)
  9. 1 tspginger chilli paste
  10. 1 tspgarlic paste
  11. 1red dry chilli
  12. 1/8 tspmustard seeds
  13. 1/8 tspjeera
  14. 1/8 tspmethi seeds
  15. 1 stickcinnamon
  16. 2cloves
  17. 1bay leaf
  18. 6whole black pepper
  19. leavesFew curry
  20. 1 tspturmeric powder
  21. 2 tspred chilli powder
  22. 2 tspoil
  23. 4 tspghee
  24. Salt to taste
  25. water as required

Cooking Instructions

    Wash rice and all dals. Soak in water for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, keep ready all veggies chopped.

    Take a kadai, add oil, ghee, rai, jeera, methi, red chilli, curry leaves, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and hing. Saute it. Add ginger chilli paste, garlic paste and onion, and tomato. Saute it. Now add all veggies. Mix well.

    Take a pressure cooker. Add required water along with soaked rice and dal. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Stir once. Add all veggies. Cover a lid. Cook khichdi till 4 whistles blows.

    When cools completely. Open the lid. Masala khichdi is ready. Garnish with chopped spring onion. Serve hot with papad and spring onion bulbs. Enjoy..
