Ingredients

  • 1 cupvegetable oil (240 ml)
  • 1/2 cupsugar (100 grams)
  • 1/2 cupall-purpose flour (60 grams)
  • 1 1/2 cupsshredded coconut (120 grams)
  • 6eggs
  • 1 packetbaking powder (about 2 teaspoons/8 grams)
  • 2 packetsvanilla extract (about 2 teaspoons)
  • Syrup
  • 2 cupssugar (400 grams)
  • 3 cupswater (720 ml)

Steps

    Beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. 2

    Add the shredded coconut and mix well.

  3. 3

    Next, add the remaining ingredients and stir until combined.

  4. 4

    Pour the batter into a lightly greased baking pan.

  5. 5

    Bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 40 minutes.

  6. 6

    To check if it’s done, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.

  7. 7

    Prepare the syrup after removing the cake from the oven by boiling the syrup ingredients for 4 minutes, then pour it over the cake.
