A long forgotten recipe from our grannies kitchens . This is a wonderful winter recipe that uses seasonal vegetables like fresh tuver dana / fresh pigeon peas & fresh green garlic . My grandmother used to make this recipe during winters & serve it as hot snacks . We would love it so much that it would finish in no time . It is a spicy dish,so go slow on the spice level with children . Remember to serve it hot with green garlic chutney or tea / coffee .

Steps
- 1
Boil the fresh tuver dana with water in a pressure cooker up to 3 whistles. Drain the water. Crush 1/4 tuver dana coarsely.Keep it' aside. Keep the flours ready.
- 2
Take water in the pan. Add sesame seeds, turmeric powder, jaggery, salt & green chilli - ginger - garlic paste. Now switch on the flame & boil the water till bubbles come. Add boiled tuver dana, chopped green garlic & crushed tuver dana also.Mix.
- 3
Now bring the pan down & add all the flours slowly. Mix with a rolling pin till all the water has been absorbed by the flour. The mixture will now resemble a dough - like consistency. Take the mixture on the gas & cook the mixture on slow flame till it forms a lump.
- 4
Switch off the flame. Cover the mixture & keep it aside for 10 minutes. This step is a must,so that all the flours will be cooked evenly & the dhekaras will not taste of uncooked flours.
- 5
Remove the lid & take the mixture in a plate.
- 6
Take very little oil in the plate & knead the mixture very well. Make equal size flat tikkis from it.
- 7
Heat oil in a pan & deep fry these dhekras / tikki on medium flame till golden brown in colour. Serve them with green garlic chutney or tea / coffee.
