An all time favorite and flavorful traditional gujarati flatbreads called as Thepla. While going on a picnic, trip or a long trip, the first thought that comes to mind is what to take in tiffin? Then only one dish comes to mind which is Thepla. Wrapping the thepala in foil paper and taking it to tiffin keeps it very soft and tasty yummy.
My family loves thepla so I make different types of Thepla. I made with garlic, fresh fenugreek, spices, whole wheat flour. That are tasty, yummy 😋 and delicious to enjoy as a delicious snack any time of the day with pickle, plain curd, chutney, jaam or tea, coffee.

Ingredients

20 minutes
3 people
  • 2 cupwheat flour
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1/4 cupchopped green garlic
  • 1 tbspfenugreek leaves
  • 1green chilli chopped
  • 1 teaspoonred chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  • 1 teaspooncoriander powder
  • 1 teaspooncumin powder
  • Taste to salt
  • as neededOil for fry
  • For serving
  • Curd
  • Green chutney
  • Pickle

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Add oil, green garlic, fresh fenugreek leaves, green chili, turmeric powder,red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt to the wheat flour and mix well. Then, add water little by little and knead a medium dough.

    Apply oil and keep it for 10 minutes then make medium size balls.

    Now rub the ball in wheat flour and make a medium sized thepla.Knead the dough evenly and make medium sized ball. Fry both sides with oil on a hot pan and prepare the garlic paratha.

    Apply jam or chutney on the thepala to the child, make a roll and give the chutney pickle to the elder separately and wrap the thepala in foil paper and give it in tiffin.
