Homemade Carnitas
My mom shared this recipe with me.
Steps
- 1
Wash the meat thoroughly until all the blood is removed and the meat is white.
- 2
Drain the meat well and with the little bit of water left on it, put it on the stove. It will cook in its own juice.
- 3
Add three cloves of garlic, chopped into small pieces, and salt to taste.
- 4
Let it boil until the juice is completely absorbed.
- 5
Finally, add the natural pork lard and let it boil for at least three hours.
- 6
Stir constantly to prevent the meat and pork skin from sticking.
- 7
Serve with green salsa, pico de gallo, or a salad.
- 8
Enjoy your meal!
