Steps

Wash moong dal, and soak dal for 3 to 5 hours.

Drain water after soaking

Grind the soaked moong dal,and 2 tsp soaked thick poha.

Grind and make smooth batter.

Add chopoed onion,cabbage, grated carrot, finely chopped Green chillies, finely chopped coriander to the batter and mix all together.

Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste and water if required mix all together well

Grece Appam mold,add batter in mold.

Cover and cook it one side for 6 to 8 minutes.

Turn Appam and cook the other side well.

Appam is ready to serve.

For coconut chutney,

In a blender jar add grated fresh coconut, 1 green chilli,garlic, fresh coriander, cumins seeds, salt to taste. And blend it until smooth.

Serve Appam with coconut chutney.
