Masala Thattai -Crispy and spicy evening snack from Tamilnadu

Grind roasted chana.Keep it aside.

Grind garlic, black pepper and cumin.Add soaked chana dal and grind.

Take rice flour in a bowl,mix roasted chana powder,salt,ground spices,red chilli powder.Mix hot oil in it.Mix it well.Now add water little by little to make a soft dough.

Divide the dough into 18 parts.Make balls.Take a polythene or butter paper,grease it with oil.Place the balls on the polythene,cover it with another piece of polythene and press the rice ball with a flat bottom steel bowl or glass.Make thin pooris.

Heat oil in a pan,fry these thattai in medium hot oil until golden brown.Fry them in batches.

Your spicy and crispy thattai is ready to serve.Enjoy it with tea.
