Steamed Momos

Momos are delicious, savory dumplings from Tibetan and Nepali cuisine, popular throughout South Asia. They are made by filling a flour wrapper with ground meat and vegetables like cabbage and carrot, seasoned with spices. The momos are usually steamed, but can also be fried or served in soup, and are always paired with a spicy dipping sauce. Known for their comforting warmth, tasty filling, and unique shape, I made these with ground chicken and some vegetables.

Grate all the vegetables and mix them in a large bowl with the ground chicken, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and cornstarch. Set aside.

Make a dough with the flour and water, then roll it out into circles for the momos.

Place some of the filling in the center of each circle and shape the momos as shown in the picture.

Prepare all the momos in this way and get them ready for steaming.

Add water to a steamer and steam all the momos for 15 to 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, remove the momos and serve them in a bowl with momo chutney (sauce).
