  1. 1 tspGinger garlic paste
  2. 1handful, chopped Coriander leaves
  3. 100 mlWater
  4. 1.5 tbspOil
  5. to taste Salt
  6. 0.25 tspTurmeric powder
  7. 1 tspCoriander powder
  8. 1 tspKashmiri chilli powder
  9. 1 tspChilli powder
  10. 1 kgPrawns
  11. 1 sprigCurry leaves
  12. 3cloves, sliced Garlic
  13. 1 pinchHing (asafoetida)
  14. 1 tspCumin seeds
  15. 1 tspMustard seeds
  16. 2medium, chopped Tomato
  17. 2large, finely chopped Onion

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, sliced garlic, and curry leaves until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. Then, add ginger garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.

  3. 3

    Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

  4. 4

    Add the chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Sauté for about 2 minutes to combine the spices well.

  5. 5

    Add the prawns to the mixture and mix well. Pour in the water and cook until the prawns are fully cooked and the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.

  6. 6

    Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

Tips

Ensure to sauté the onions well for a rich flavor and adjust the spice levels according to your taste.
