Mango Trifle

Mango trifle is a delightful dessert that layers fruity freshness with creamy indulgence, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.
The base usually begins with soft sponge cake or plain biscuits soaked lightly in fruit juice or syrup to add moisture and flavour. However, I used vibrant mango jelly as the base. On top of this, a layer of cake is added, offering a sweet and refreshing bite. Fresh mango chunks are then added to highlight the tropical essence of the dessert, giving each spoonful a burst of juicy goodness.
Custard is added followed by cream, balancing the sweetness of the jelly with its creamy texture. The layers are repeated once.
For extra appeal, the trifle is decorated with whipped cream, mango puree lines with cherries and mangoes on top.
The contrast of textures—from soft sponge to wobbly jelly, creamy custard, and fresh fruit—makes it exciting and satisfying. It’s also a great make-ahead dessert, as it needs time to chill and set, which enhances the flavours.
Ideal for summer gatherings, family dinners, or festive tables, mango trifle is not only visually appealing but also loved by both kids and adults. It’s a versatile, crowd-pleasing dessert that celebrates the tropical charm of mangoes.
