Soak both Dal's for 2hrs.

Grind coarsely these dals along with ginger,green chilli,red chillies, fennel seeds, asafoetida,curry leaves and salt.

Mix the above with chopped onion,coriander and mint leaves. Check the salt at this stage.

Wet both hands. Make it into equal sized flat patties of medium thickness.

Heat oil for deep frying. Once it's hot,reduce to medium flame and fry these patties until golden brown., flipping once in between.

Serve hot with tea or coffee
