Rice Mold with Cheese Sauce

An impressive and unique presentation of rice for a buffet or dinner table. The result will satisfy you both visually and taste-wise.
A few more secrets
Instead of a ring mold, you can use a disposable aluminum cake mold. The ingredient quantities I provide are for such a mold. To prevent the dish from becoming too salty, make sure the kefalograviera cheese you use is not too salty. This recipe, with some variations, is from Mrs. Alexiadou.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sauté the rice in butter until it becomes translucent, then add the water or broth. Add salt and cook until the liquid is absorbed and the surface of the rice forms small holes. Remove from heat, cover with a clean towel, place the pot lid on top, and set aside.
- 2
Heat the oil and sauté the onion and bell peppers. Add the turkey and once sautéed, add the tomato. Season with salt and pepper and let the vegetables soften and the sauce thicken.
- 3
Prepare the cheese sauce. Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
- 4
Lightly butter a ring mold for cake. Layer half of the rice, then add the vegetable mixture, sprinkle with grated cheese, and cover with the remaining rice. Place in a preheated oven for 5 minutes, remove the mold from the oven, and let it stand for a while. Unmold the rice onto a platter, pour over the cheese sauce, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
- 5
If the cheese sauce has thickened, reheat it with 2 tablespoons of water.

I've been making this rice gratin (doria) for some time. I always used to eyeball the ingredients, so I measured them properly for when my daughter wants to make it.When making the bechamel sauce, add the milk all at once and raise the heat to high, and just keep mixing and mixing until it starts bubbling! That's it! If you add cheese, the sauce will become richer! Leftover sauce can be used to make a special croque-monsieur for breakfast!! Recipe by Naomoka cookpad.japan -

Doria (Rice Gratin) with Curry Pilaf and White Sauce Doria (Rice Gratin) with Curry Pilaf and White Sauce
I like the combination of curry-flavoured pilaf and white sauce. I made curry pilaf earlier so I made this dish too. By adding tomatoes and broccoli, you can boost the nutrient content of the dish.During Step 3 as you add the milk, it will be a bit thick but will gradually thin out. Stir the sauce constantly over low heat and you won't get any lumps. Instead of fresh tomatoes, you can use canned tomatoes. Just pop some into the middle of the sauce. For 2 servings.
