Ingredients

  1. 1 cupSamvat rice Barnyard Millet Rava -
  2. Grated Bottle Gourd - 2 cups
  3. 1/2 cupYogurt/Curd -
  4. 11/2 tablespoonBroken Cashews -
  5. tablespoonChana Dal-1
  6. 1 teaspoonUrad Dal-
  7. 1 teaspoonMustard Seeds -
  8. Green Chilly - 1, chopped
  9. 1/4 teaspoonAsafoetida -
  10. 1/2 teaspoonEno/Fruit Salt -
  11. 1/4 cupChopped Coriander -
  12. Curry Leaves - 10,
  13. to tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Add rava and curd in a bowl mix it well and keep aside for 30minutes Grate bottle Gourd very thin. Add the grated bottle gourd to the samvat rice rava, add the 1/2 cup curd, mix it well with hand and leave it for 30 minutes.

    Heat oil in a pan fry cashew nut and crush into small pieces Heat oil in a pan add Chana dal,Utd dal,mustard seeds.add hing and green chilli.add curry leaves..sauté for minute and remove

  3. 3

    Add the sauteed cashew and mustered seeds mixture to the soaked samvat rice rava, also add the chopped coriander, salt and 1/2 cup water and mix everything together

  4. 4

    Heat the water in the steamer (idli maker), grease the idli moulds, now add the eno/fruit salt to the batter, mix it and spoon it into the idli moulds and steam them immediately for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  5. 5

    Let it cool for a couple of minutes, then remove them carefully

  6. 6

    Eat with coconut chutney
