This was a recipe straight outta Mawmaw Karen's kitchen. My granmother went home to be with the Lord when I was 12. I am now 27 with a large family of 6 and this is how I share my Mawmaw Karen with my family. I hope you all enjoy.

8 servings
  1. Pie Filling
  2. 1 cupsugar
  3. 1/2 cupflour
  4. 2eggs (lightly beaten)
  5. 1 cupmelted butter
  6. 2 tspvanilla extract (3 tablespoons of bourbon)
  7. 3/4 cupchopped pecans (can use walnuts)
  8. 3/4 cupsemisweet chocolate chips
  9. Pie Crust
  10. 1frozen pie crust

Cooking Instructions

1 hour
  1. 1

    Prehead oven to 350

  2. 2

Mix with a wooden spoon. Can chop pecans smaller if you want.

  3. 3

Pour filling into crust. Bake on the middle rack of the oven, until just set. Do not overbake! The pie is ready when the crust is golden, the top is just firm, but the very center is still a bit gooey.

  4. 4

Let pie rest 2-3 hours before cutting.
