Ingredients

  1. 7 packagesGoya brand sweet green bananas (Maduras), thawed
  2. 1 1/2 lbground beef
  3. 2-3 tbspadobo (or to taste)
  4. 2-3 tbspblack pepper
  5. 1 (8 oz.)can diced tomatoes, undrained
  6. 6large eggs, beaten
  7. 1/2 envelopesazon
  8. 1/4 cupsofrito
  9. 1 tbspminced garlic
  10. 1medium diced onion
  11. 1 cangreen beans, drained (optional)
  12. 1 1/2 packagesmixed colby jack shredded cheese

  1. 1

    Brown beef with all seasonings, sofrito, & onion. Then add tomatoes. Cook till some of liquid evaporates, then set aside.

  2. 2

    Preheat oven @ 375°. In a greased with butter 9x13 or lasagna pan, layer the tostones covering bottom of pan in 1 layer.

  3. 3

    Top with ground beef mixture, then green beans, & then cheese. Repeat for 2 more layers.

  4. 4

    Pour beaten eggs over whole dish, especially the corners. Fork so the egg can distribute through because it acts as a binder for cutting later (like lasagna).

  5. 5

    Top with layer of cheese, cover with foil & bake for 30 - 40 minutes. Let stand for @ least 15 minutes before serving to make sure the egg binds it better. Then serve with green beans or salad.
