Ingredients

  1. 1 boxLemon Cake mix
  2. 1 boxPound Cake mix
  3. 3 pintsFresh Strawberries
  4. 1Fresh Lemon sliced
  5. 1 box4.3 oz. Cook n Serve Lemon Pudding
  6. 1 cupSugar
  7. 3 tbspCorn Starch
  8. 1 canWhipped Cream
  9. 3plastic straws

Cooking Instructions

    Make cake in 9 inch rounds according to box directions. One lemon round. One pound cake round. There will be more than enough batter for each cake. Cool cake completely before building trifle.

    Place lemon cake round in bowl upside down. ( rounded top down )

    Cook lemon pudding using directions on box. Cool slightly and poor over lemon cake. Spread just enough that pudding falls over edges of cake round. Let pudding cool completely.

    Cut a circle in the top of pound cake round, then spoon out enough cake to make a well in the top of it.

    Place pound cake round in bowl on top of pudding. Use plastic straws to secure top round in place. The cut straws off at level of cake.

    Now hull and slice two pints of strawberries for glazing. Place strawberries, 1 Cup sugar, 1/2 Cup water, and 3 Tablespoons cornstarch in sauce pan over med. high heat. Stir and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes or until glaze clears. Cool glazed berries before pouring into well in top of cake.

    Clean some of the 3rd pint of strawberries, hull, and slice lengthwise. Place strawberries strategically around edge of pound cake. Finish with whipped cream and more sliced stawberries on top of the cake. Chill for one hour before serving.
