Gobi Manchuriyan (indo chinese cauliflower dish)

Once there was a boy of 8 yrs, he was such a brat that he wont eat food without meat or fish. He used to hate veggies. To make this boy eat veggies, his aunt once made gobi manchuriyan and told him its chicken. He took one bite and knew it wasnt chicken but the dish was so delicious that he couldnt stop eating. Gobi Manchuriyan, a pure indo-chinese recipe that brings the flavour of both india and china into one.
20 yrs later, the boy is still a die hard fan of cauliflower and manchuriyan dish. Try it and you wont regret :)

Steps
- 1
par boil the florets in hot water for 15 minutes. This will cleanse them too.
- 2
Mix the corn flour, all purpose flour and baking soda with enough water and little salt to make a thick batter. Dip the florets in this batter.
- 3
shake of the excess batter off the florets and deep fry them in oil until they are crisp
- 4
remove them from the oil and keep them aside
- 5
Heat oil in a sauce pan and add garlic first. Then add white part of spring onion and onion and saute well.. that is till its transparent.
- 6
To this add tomato sauce, chilli sauce, soy sauce, salt, pepper, sugar and saute.
- 7
Then add the fried cauli and green part of spring onion and stir well to mix everything. Make sure the sauce is dried up and then remove from the flame. Garnish with chopped cillantro leaves. Cover it with a lid and let it stay for 2-3 min
- 8
serve hot with rice, breads or noodles
- 9
Note : Instead of dry form, this is also served with gravy. All you need to do is add more tomato sauce, like may be half cup. :) Also you may use half teaspoon ginger paste with garlic while saute-ing.

a few tablespoons of flour to make the batter? you need at least a half-cup;
and the sauce - a few teaspoons of tom sauce and chili sauce? You need at least a cup of sauce to coat a head of cauliflower.
WTF?
