Ingredients

2 servings
  • Battered Shrimp
  • 1/4 cupcoconut oil
  • 1large egg white
  • 1/4 cuppotato starch
  • 1 tspsea salt
  • 2 lbshrimp
  • 2green union
  • 1 pinchsesame seeds
  • --Sauce---
  • 3 tbspmayonnaise
  • 1 tbsphoney
  • 1 tbsplemon juice
  • 1 tsppuri puri chili
  • 1 tspchili powder
  • 1 pinchsea salt
  • 1 pinchwhite pepper

Steps

    Combine the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

    In a wok or skillet, heat the coconut oil over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 5 minutes.

    Whip the egg white until frothy, then add the starch and salt and stir to combine into a batter. Toss the shrimp in the batter to coat.

    Add the coated shrimp to the wok in batches and fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes per batch, then place on paper towels to drain.

    Toss the shrimp with the sauce and green onions, then garnish with sesame seeds and serve.

Living in Dublin with my Irish partner who is celiac. My recipes are Gluten Free (GF). Most of my recipes are Asian food and I use soya sauce a lot in them. Regular soya sauce is not GF, but you can get GF one from supermarkets.
