Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 1 lbvenison or beef ground meat
  2. 1/2 lbground pork
  3. 1/2 lbbacon
  4. 2long hot peppers
  5. 1onion
  6. 6 clovegarlic
  7. 2 packagessazon
  8. 2 tbspsofrito (tomato cooking base)
  9. 2 tbsprecaito (cilantro cooking base)
  10. 1salt & pepper
  11. 1 packagesempanada shells

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Chop up the bacon & cook in pan (not crisp) & remove bacon & set aside

  2. 2

    Leave bacon fat in & cook the ground venison or beef & the ground pork & set aside leaving grease in the pan

  3. 3

    Dice peppers, onions & garlic & cook in the meat fat.

  4. 4

    Add all the meat back in with the sazon, sofrito & recaito & cook for a minute & salt & pepper for taste.

  5. 5

    Fill the empanada shell in the middle with just enough room to fold over the edges & pinch

  6. 6

    Fry empanadas in 350° canola oil for 3 minutes on each side.
