Steps

Take a pressure, add dal & rice & pour 3-4 cups of water along with turmeric powder & salt, turn on the gas.

Until the rice cooks for 2 whistles, prepare the masala that will go in. Take a kadhai and pour some oil, add cumin seeds, onions and sauté till the onions turn pinkish.

Add green chillies & ginger-garlic paste, sauté. Add tomatoes, sauté well.

Add haldi powder, dhaniya powder & red chilli powder, salt & sauté until the tomatoes mash completely.

Remove the rice from the flame & mash the rice by pouring some water in it & add the rice & mix with the masala made.

Take a tadka pan, pour some oil, add mustard seeds, kadi patta, red chilles and pour this tadka in the rice when the mustard starts to sprinkle.

You are already done with this khichadi just garnish it with coriander leaves & serve hot.
