Crock Pot Cube Steak

I had cube steak, which I really don't like, so I thought I would try something different, and I thought it turned out great. I make this once or twice a month now.
Crock Pot Cube Steak
I had cube steak, which I really don't like, so I thought I would try something different, and I thought it turned out great. I make this once or twice a month now.
Steps
- 1
Mix Cream of Mushroom, water, and seasonings in a bowl with a fork or whisk, getting out as many lumps as possible
- 2
Peel and quarter potatoes
- 3
Peel and slice onion (you can also chop the onion, I just prefer slices)
- 4
Halve the steaks so they fit better into the crock pot and season to taste if desired
- 5
Spread a thin layer of cream of mushroom on the bottom of the crock pot
- 6
Add potatoes in single layer
- 7
Add half the onion on top of the potatoes and 1/3 to 1/2 of the cream of mushroom mixture
- 8
Lay in steaks over the potatoes and avoid as much overlapping as possible
- 9
Add the other half of the onions over steaks
- 10
Pour the rest of the cream of mushroom mixture over the steaks and onions, covering as much of the meat as possible ( I spooned it in to make sure it was all covered)
- 11
Set crock pot on low for 8 hours and forget about it!
