Naan Katai

Nan khatai is an authentic Indian shortbread biscuits popular in India and Pakistan. Nan kahtai can be easily prepared at home. these egg less Indian cookies made with refined flour, gram flour, sugar, clarified butter and flavored with green cardamom powder, some time add semolina also.

Nan khatai is an authentic Indian shortbread biscuits popular in India and Pakistan. Nan kahtai can be easily prepared at home. these egg less Indian cookies made with refined flour, gram flour, sugar, clarified butter and flavored with green cardamom powder, some time add semolina also.
Steps

Preheat the oven to 180 degree. In a large bowl mix refined flour, gram flour, semolina, cardamom powder and soda. Cream together the ghee and sugar until well blended.

Add flour mix to ghee mixture and knead them together to make a smooth dough. put the mixture in fridge about 1 hour. Remove the dough from fridge and make small size balls, press each ball between your palms lightly.

With a sharp knife draw a tic-tac design on the top and put chopped pistachio press them into the dough gently. Put the balls on a greased baking tray and bake at 180 degree for 12 to 15 minutes or until the nan khatai are lightly golden brown.
