Memphis Style BBQ Sauce

This story of sauces moves eastwards now from the thick and sweet Kansas City BBQ to the thinner and tangy Memphis Style BBQ. Another champion of versatility, it's thinness allows it to bake into a tasty sheen. Great for any BBQ from ribs to chicken, can also be used as a dipping sauce.

Kansas City BBQ Sauce Kansas City BBQ Sauce
My sauce adventures continue with Kansas City BBQ sauce. This is a thick, sweet and tangy sauce. Because of its thickness it tends to sit on top of the meat rather than bake in much. The high sugar content can cause it to burn over hot coals, so best brushed on in the latter stages of grilling. aldo -

Carolina-Style BBQ Sauce Carolina-Style BBQ Sauce
My version of homemade Carolina-style BBQ sauce, which pays homage to all 3 regional styles of Eastern, Southern, and Western Carolinas. The basic foundation of this sauce is vinegar, tomato (ketchup), and mustard tastes ... with a balance of citrus-sweetness (fruit) and heat (peppers).I prepare this each year (64oz) for a full-season of outdoor grilling or smoking. It’s not the full ingredient recipe mind you, but what the heck; it’s a good foundational start for you. Rick M -
