Heat up water to a boil in its own pot

Fry rice in a separate pot with oil, onion, and garlic, for no more than a minute, just to coat the rice

Throw boiling water in the pot with rice, salt it, and mix

Bring to a boil

Reduce heat to low (to simmer)

Cover and cook for 20min

Remove from heat, fluff, and let sit for 5 minutes covered
