Ingredients

  1. 1medium onion (chopped)
  2. 2 clovesgarlic (minced)
  3. 2 tbspOlive oil
  4. 1/4 cupwater
  5. To tasteoregano and basil (more oregano)
  6. 56 ozcrushed tomatoes
  7. 16 ozplain tomato sauce
  8. 1 tbspsugar
  9. To tastered pepper flakes
  10. To tastepepper
  11. To tastegarlic powder
  12. 1 1/2 handfulParmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

    Heat olive oil in large pot. Add onion and garlic and cook until onions are transparent. Add water, oregano, and basil.

    Add crushed tomatoes. Rinse cans with a little water and add to pot. Add 1 tbsp sugar and cook over low heat.

    Add red pepper flakes, pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan. Bring to a boil and cover (if not adding meatballs). Cook for about a half hour.

    If adding meatballs: keep over low heat, cover, and cook for 1 hour. Stir periodically. Keep at low boil / simmer.
