Ingredients
1 cupvegtable shortning
1/2 cupbrown sugar
1/2 cupwhite sugar
1/2 tspeach cloves, cinnimon, ginger, nutmeg
1 largeegg
1/4 cupmolasses
3 cupflour
1/4 tspsalt, optional
1/4 tspbaking soda
2 cupchocolate chips
1 1/2 cupflaked coconut
1 1/2 cuprasins
1 cupchopped nuts
For Chocolate Variation add
1/4 cupbaking cocoa
1 cupwhite chocolate chips....substitute for 1 cup of the chocolate chips

preheat oven at 350°F

mix dry ingredients in lg bowl

in separate bowlblend sugars and shortening until fluffy with hand mixer.

add molasses, spices, and egg to mixture, blend well

mix in dry ingredients in 3 separate additions, blend well

gradually add chocolate chips, coconut, rasins, and nuts. blend well
7

drop by rounded teaspoons on greased cookie sheet

bake in 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes

a recipe i dedicate to my dad who help me come up with it years ago.

Should make about 24 cookies, 2 per serving....one for each hand
