Boil water in a large vessel,scoop out and discard the eyes of the tomatoes,make a criss-cross cuts at the base of each tomato.

Put in boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes or till soft,Remove and put in cold water for some time.When the tomatoes are cool, peel and discard the skin.

Chop roughly and blend to a smooth puree in a blender.Simmer the puree until you have the thick consistency, time can vary depending on the type of tomato you are using. It can take 30 minutes to 1 hour,allow the puree to cool down.

Pour the prepared puree in an ice cube tray and freeze it.Store the frozen puree cubes in a Ziploc bag and put in your freezer. This takes up less space and allows you to excess varying amounts of puree as needed.

If frozen, tomato puree can last for months or a year.
