Ingredients

  1. 5 piecesfish, sliced
  2. 200 gpickled bamboo shoots
  3. 1 stalklemongrass
  4. 2shallots
  5. 10dried chilies
  6. 3kaffir lime leaves
  7. 1/2ladle fermented fish sauce
  8. 1 tablespoonKnorr seasoning
  9. 1green onion, cut into pieces
  10. 2 cupswater (about 500 ml)

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the pickled bamboo shoots and rinse once.

  2. 2

    Add water to a pot and bring to a boil.

  3. 3

    Pound the dried chilies, shallots, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, then add to the pot.

    Season with fermented fish sauce and Knorr seasoning.

    When the water boils, add the fish followed by the pickled bamboo shoots. Avoid stirring too much to prevent the fish from becoming fishy.

  6. 6

    Finish with green onion pieces and basil leaves, if available.

  7. 7

    Serve in a bowl and enjoy your meal!
