Combine warm water, 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast and set aside for about 5 minutes.

In a mixer bowl whisk 3 tablespoons sugar, eggs, 2 tablespoons oil, salt and vanilla until sugar dissolves.

Add yeast mixture then add flour in small amounts, mixing well after each addition to make soft dough.

Cover with cloth and refrigerate and let it rise at room temperature for about 1 hour.

Place dough on floured surface, and roll dough out to 1/4 –inch thick and cut with a round cooky cutter, then cut in the centre with another round smaller cutter to make ring shapes.

Add oil into a frying pan and heat over medium heat. Add your shaped dough and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Place them on a serving dish and sprinkle with icing sugar, or dip one side with melted chocolate.
