I first made this pie as a child growing up in Utah. I decided to make it this year because I was feeling nostalgic for simpler times.

Ingredients

  1. Crust
  2. 1/4 cupmilk
  3. 1/2 cupcanola oil
  4. 1/2 tspsalt
  5. 1 1/2 cupall purpose flour
  6. Topping
  7. 2 ozsugar
  8. 1/2 tspcinnamon
  9. 1/2 cupflour
  10. 1/4 cupcold chopped butter

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    preheat oven to 350°F

  2. 2

    combine all ingredients for crust in the pie plate and form a ball

  3. 3

    press ball of dough out evenly to form the pie crust

  4. 4

    put apple pie filling into the pie crust (I used canned but you can make fresh pie filling)

  5. 5

    combine topping ingredients (grating frozen butter works well)

  6. 6

    use a fork or hands to work topping into a crumble

  7. 7

    sprinkle topping over pie

  8. 8

    bake 40-50 minutes
