I loved Ruth Chris's sweet cream dessert little did I know it was so easy to make!
Steps

Add cup of heavy cream, and a tablespoon of sugar to a pot and bring to boil

Meanwhile separate your egg yolks and add to a bowl with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix until well blended.

Add a few tablespoons of the simmering cream to the yolk mix. Mix well and repeat this step.

Add the rest of the cream to the mix. Mix well and add the vanilla extract.

Make a double boiler by placing a small pot into a larger pot. You can steady the small pot by placing a cookie cutter underneath it. Cook for 8-12 mins, stirring constantly.

Once cooked run the cream through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Immediately put the bowl into an ice bath. Once cool place in the fridge. After an hour or so the cream is alright to serve

Top with berries such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries and enjoy!
