Ingredients

5 servings
  1. 1kilo of mussels
  2. 2 mediumred onions
  3. 1 tbspminced ginger
  4. 3 cloveof crushed garlic
  5. 2clusters of chili leaves
  6. 2 tbspcanola oil
  7. 6 cupof water or more if desired
  8. 1/2 tspground black pepper (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash mussels with tap water then soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain when ready for cooking.

  2. 2

    Heat a large pot under low to medium heat. Pour cooking oil and simmer garlic, onions and ginger. Do not burn garlic.

  3. 3

    Add water, continue to simmer then pour mussels and bring to boil or until mussels are cooked.

  4. 4

    Add ground black pepper (optional).

  5. 5

    Pour chili leaves and mix then cover pot. Turn off heat and wait for 2 minutes before serving.
