Viral Pontianak Fried Egg with Soy Sauce Ayong 999 #RabuBaru

Wow, there's a #BikinRamadanBerkesan event on Cookpad, and I missed it by two days 😂 No worries, as I haven't checked Cookpad in a while and haven't been cooking much lately 😆
But after seeing Teh Eli's video https://youtu.be/H8gqvv6bsiU making a simple and delicious-looking dish, I got tempted too. They say it's viral, but it seems this dish is famous in Pontianak, specifically because of a place called Nasi Ayong 999, which sells this kind of fried egg rice, and it's super popular 😮 To make it even better, I asked my sister who lives there to bring me some Kalimantan soy sauce. The brand is Kambing Dua from Singkawang, which is said to be really tasty. Hopefully, she can bring it 😁 For now, I'm using Kikkoman.
This dish is also great for a quick pre-dawn meal, especially in emergencies hehe, simple but delicious. Even though it's just a fried egg, the cooking method is different, making it special 😁 Kids will definitely love this kind of fried egg. I also want this for my first meal to break the fast #RabuBaru.

Steps
- 1
Heat a generous amount of oil to fry the chopped garlic. Add the garlic, immediately lower the heat to prevent burning. Fry until fragrant and golden brown. Set aside with the oil.
- 2
Heat a generous amount of oil to fry the egg. Fry the egg, pour soy sauce and the fried garlic with its oil over the egg, then spread evenly. Remove from heat. (Fry the egg briefly so the soy sauce and garlic don't burn. No need to flip.)
- 3
Place the fried egg on top of the warm white rice prepared on a plate. Break the yolk. Delicious! 😍
- 4
TIPS: If you don't like runny egg yolk, after turning off the heat when frying the egg, let it sit in the hot pan and cover it.
- 5
Try the sweet and spicy version too 😃👉 https://cookpad.wasmer.app/id/resep/5279604
