My mother always try to feed us healthy food in very attractive and alluring way. I cook many of her recipes. But this dish is very close to my heart. She usually feed us gooseberry jam , by saying it as mango jam. And i with my brother and sister relish this jam as bread spread and layer it on chapati to make jam roll but without knowing the key ingredient.

Ingredients

5 servings
  1. 250 gramsGooseberry
  2. 150 gramsSugar
  3. 1 teaspoonRoasted cumin powder
  4. to tasteSalt and chilli flakes according
  5. 1/2 tablespoonFinely chopped walnut
  6. 1/2 tablespoonFinely chopped cashewnut
  7. 1/2 tablespoonFinely chopped almonds
  8. 1/4 tablespoonMelon seeds
  9. 1/4 tablespoonDessicated coconut slices

Steps

55 minutes
  1. 1

    First boil gooseberry until soft. Now drain water and keep aside. Deseed all gooseberries.

  2. 2

    Now In heavy bottomed wok put this gooseberry and sugar. Add all spices also. Keep on stirring.

  3. 3

    It will take nearly 40-45 minutes on low flame. Cook according to desired consistency.

    Add dry fruits and mix again nicely.

  5. 5

    Now let it cool and store in sterilized Mason jar.

  6. 6

    Now relish it with hot chapati or use as bread spread.Keep enjoying
