An idea that popped up after seeing the left over idlis. Mostly it's made into upma (shredded). But I wanted to try it this way.

Ingredients

  1. 2red onions julienned
  2. 2garlic cloves finely chopped
  3. 1 tbspchopped cilantro
  4. 1 tspmustard seeds
  5. 2green chillies chopped
  6. 1 tspcumin seeds
  7. 5curry leaves
  8. 2 tbspoil
  9. 1 tspturmeric powder
  10. 2 tspcurry powder
  11. 1 tspred chilli powder
  12. 2 tspsalt
  13. 4idlis

Cooking Instructions

    Heat oil in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds. After they splutter, add curry leaves and add the chopped garlic. Sauté for 2 mins.

    Add the chopped green chillies and the onion. Add a pinch of salt and sauté well.

    Once the onions turn golden, add the chopped tomatoes along with a pinch of salt, turmeric powder, curry powder, red chilli powder and a splash of water.

    Cook the tomatoes well till the oil separates. Add the cilantro and stir well.

  5. 5

    Dice the idlis into cubes and add to the pan. Stir well over medium low flame and cook for 3 mins. Serve hot.
