Ingredients

1hours+soking
4 servings
  • 1/2 cupRajma(red kidney beans)soked overnight and drained
  • 3 cupcooked rice(chawal)
  • 1 tea spoonoil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tspasafoetida (hing)
  • 1/2 cupsliced onines
  • 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cupchopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 (4 tsp)turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tspcoriander and roasted cumin powder
  • to tastesalt
  • 2 tspcream
  • 1 tbspfinely chopped coriander

Steps

1hours+soking
  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds and asafoetida then add the onions and ginger garlic paste. Saute on a medium flame.

    Add the tomatoes,turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder and salt,mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1to 2 minutes.

    Add the rajma and 1cup of water mix well and pressure cook for 4 whistle.

    Open the cooker add the cream,garam masala and coriander..mix well.

    So Rajma is ready to eating with chawal.

    The traditional way is to enjoy it with plan chawal. You can also serve it along with chapati,naan or pulav if desired.
